Name of Organization Christian Action
Mission To serve those who are poor, disadvantaged, marginalized, displaced or abandoned.
Objectives To give them hope, dignity and self-reliance. Our services are based on the example of Jesus Christ to serve all people regardless of their age, gender, nationality and religion.
Core Services Our service recipients include underprivileged children and youth, the unemployed, new arrivals, ethnic minorities, refugees, migrant domestic workers, as well as orphans and abandoned children in Qinghai; we also run social enterprise programmes.

Achievements / Pioneer Projects 1. Operates 24 service points (19 Service & Training Centres, 4 Community Sales Outlets and 1 Social Enterprise Floral Shop) in 2018.
2. Launched Manpower Development Scheme (MDS) under Employees Retraining Programme (ERB) since 1993 and over 280,000 attendances have been trained.
3. Launched Migrant Domestic Workers Programme since 1993 and have provided an accumulation of 195,000 paralegal consultations with 156,000 attendances to our training services and shelters.
4. Launched New Arrivals Programme since 1996 with over 188,000 attendances to our 2 service centres at Mong Kok and Sheung Shui.
5. Started poverty alleviation programmes in Qinghai Province, China in 1997 and have been co-managing the first children’s home with the Qinghai government to improve children’s welfare, to save and help children with special needs since 1998. As of 2018, a total of 5 children’s homes are being co-managed and nearly 1,400 children have been cared for.
6. Co-managed the first and only Special Education and Rehabilitation facility, Xining Children’s Rehabilitation Centre, in Qinghai Province since 2007.
7. Launched Integrated Employment Assistance Programme for Self-reliance (IEAPS) (Former name: Integrated Employment Assistance Scheme) since 2001 to provide employment assistance to unemployed and CSSA recipients. Over 24,000 people have been served.
8. Established Social Enterprise and Green Collection Programme since 2003 and over 5,000 tons of clothes have been collected. Currently running 4 Community Sales Outlets and 1 Social Enterprise Floral Shop, providing employment opportunities to disadvantaged groups.
9. Established the first and only drop-in centre at Chungking Mansions to serve refugees and asylum seekers since 2004. Over 4,400 individual & families have been served with nearly 320,000 attendances to our service centre.
10. Launched Integrated Services for Ethnic Minorities since 2004 and have had over 188,000 attendances to our 2 service centres in Jordan and Tuen Mun districts.
11. Established Community Information & Cyber Centre since 2007; includes library, computers for public use, information centre for ethnic minorities, new arrivals, migrant workers, etc.; over 15,000 users accumulated since 2007.
12. Launched Child Development Fund Programme (CDF) for children and youth from low income and CSSA families since 2008. Over 1,400 children and youth mentees and 990 mentors have been served with over 40,000 attendances.
13. Established Embracing Counselling Centre service since 2012; around 1,000 people being served.
14. Launched After-School Children Care service since 2016; 40 children being served (40% with special education needs).
15. Christian Action was officially registered as Christian Action (Hong Kong China) Qinghai Office in November 2017, marking us as the first NGO in Qinghai.
