Mission To serve those who are disadvantaged, marginalized, displaced or abandoned.
Objectives To give them hope, dignity and self-reliance.
Our mission is based on the example of Jesus Christ who came to serve all people, regardless of their age, gender, nationality and religion.
Core Services Our service recipients include unemployed adults and youth, new arrivals form Mainland China, children and youth form deprived families, ethnic minorities, refugees, domestic migrant workers, and orphans and abandoned children in Qinghai; and also develop social enterprise services.
Achievements / Pioneer Projects 1. Operates 20 service and training centres and 3 Community Sales Outlets as of 2016.
2. Launched Employees Retraining Programme since 1993 and 210,000 people have been trained.
3. Launched Domestic Helpers and Migrant Workers Programme since 1993 and have provided an accumulation of 170,000 paralegal consultations with 140,000 attendances to training services and shelters.
4. Launched New Arrivals Programme since 1996 with over 160,000 attendances to our 2 service centres in Mong Kok and Sheung Shui.
5. Started poverty alleviation programmes in Qinghai Province, China in 1997 and have been co-managing the first children’s home with the Qinghai government to improve children’s welfare, to save and help children with special needs since 1998. As of 2016, a total of 5 children’s homes are being co-managed and over 1,200 children have been cared for.
6. Co-managed the first and only Special Education and Rehabilitation facility, Xining Children’s Rehabilitation Centre, in Qinghai Province since 2007.
7. Established Social Enterprise and Green Collection Programme since 2003 and over 4,000 tons of clothing have been collected. Currently running 3 Community Sales Outlet and providing employment opportunities to disadvantaged groups.
8. Established the first and only drop-in centre at Chungking Mansions to serve refugees and asylum seekers. 5,000 refugees have been served with over 272,000 attendances to our service centre.
9. Launched Ethnic Minorities Programme since 2007 and had around 120,000 attendances to our 2 service centres in Yau Tsim Mong and Tuen Mun districts.
10. Launched Integrated Employment Assistance Programme for Self-reliance (IEAPS) since 2008 to provide employment assistance to CSSA recipients. Around 15,000 people have been served.
11. Launched Child Development Fund Programme (CDF) for children from low income and CSSA families since 2008. Over 900 children and youth mentees and 600 mentors have been served with over 27,000 attendances.
