Core Services Promote family literary for children from 0 to 11 and their families through 3 programs:
- The Bookcase Library Program
- The Book Bag Library Program
- The First Teachers Training Program
Recent Achievements During the last two program years 2006-2008,
- a total of 34 libraries were placed in nurseries, community centres and hospital
- Over 45 First Teachers training were conducted and about 550 parents and 370 children were served
- Three Train the Trainer workshops were conducted and about 47 trainer completed the workshop
- 100 volunteers were recruited. About 660 hours were donated by them and 4974 books were wrapped.
Pioneer Projects Collaborating with International/local corporate on library installation, staff read-aloud training and staff involvement on volunteer work
Future Development - BMABHK anticipates to install about 20 Libraries and 20 FT training in NGOs during the program year of 2008-09.
- BMABHK plans to publish a Chinese children’s booklist and distribute to parents and schools in July 2008.
- BMABHK and the Chen Yet-Sen Family Foundation are in the process of launching the Feng Zi Kai Children’s Picture Books Award. It aims to encourage the creation and publishing of original Chinese children’s literature.
- BMABHK looks for the opportunities to start collaboration project with corporate in HK
- BMABHK needs to raise funds in order to be financially self-sustainable in three years
